Somakos Leonidas
Mr. Leonidas Somakos is a Spatial/Urban Planning & Regional Development Engineer (MEng) with an MSc in Local Sustainable Development. He has been working as a Project Manager and Proposal Writer for about 19 years, mainly in EU & National funded projects in various Sectors and Themes.
Today, he focuses on the EIC Accelerator (SME Instrument Phase 2b) and Fast Track to Innovation (FTI) EU Calls, developing and managing proposals on various Scientific & Technical Sectors, with specific expertise in the broader Environmental Protection Sector. Additionally he develops RIA and IA proposals for complex projects and partnerships on the H2020 EU Framework Programme.
Professional Milestones include Management of various project teams, Coordination of a Leonardo DaVinci and an ESPA/Cooperation 2011 project (2013-2017), proposal writing for successful/funded projects in H2020 and National Calls (ESPA). During 2004-2010, he held the position of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of a Developmental Partnership in an EQUAL Cycle ‘B Project.
From February 2013 until March 2017, he worked for the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Unit (IEU) of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), with academic lectures of the Course “Economy and Technology I” at the School of Mechanical Engineering & the School of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering.
